Having a Web Site is not enough.  Unless your Web Site looks professional and gives your business a professional appearance, it will run customers off. 

If your site has:

• flashing lights or images
• animated gif files of jumping fish or other cartoon figures
• background music of ANY kind
• unusual and garish colors
• poorly designed navigation
• fuzzy or poorly cropped photos

You are losing business to Charter Captains and Guides that have professionally designed fishing Web Sites. 

Family and friends may tell you how "cute" your site is - especially if you designed it yourself.  But they are not customers.  People searching for a fishing charter or guide will  see many sites in their search.  You don't want to appear "cute", you want to appear professional.  You are in competition with other professionals.  Your  Web must clearly show that YOU ARE A PROFESSIONAL.  You wouldn't take customers out with a bamboo pole and a cork float in a row boat.  Then you sure don't want to have the equivalent of a bamboo pole, cork float, and row boat Web Site.

A professionally designed Web Site will cost you less than an average day's charter in most cases.  Wouldn't you give up the price of one charter to get many more charters in return?
